Love and Relationships lesson. A fully differentiated lesson on Walking Away by Cecil Day-Lewis, that analyses how the narrator remembers seeing his son leave him and start to become more independent. Includes key words, key quotes, differentiated activities and visually engaging and interesting resources for students preparing for AQA English Literature Paper 2 at KS4, but can also be easily adapted for KS3 students as well.

We look at Of Mice and Men and Chapter One, with a focus on the relationship between Lennie and George and how John Steinbeck uses his language to get across their relationship and their personalities to the reader at the beginning of the novella. Additionally, we look at how Steinbeck uses foreshadowing to hint at the rest of the plot. A really useful lesson for students preparing for Literature exams but easily adaptable for younger students as well. Fully differentiated and resourced.

Looking at the structure of part of a famous Barack Obama speech, students consider how the former President links the past to the present and creates a link between time and hope. A really detailed lesson that includes differentiated activities throughout and supports students to reflect on structure and create their own short speeches using crafted links between themes in order to affect an audience.
